Entranced by Obscurity
My reflection stared back at me
A mirror of limpid azure
Its surface seemed to beckon me
Just to what I was unsure
Like a beautiful siren's call
Seemingly safe, seemingly pure
It pulled me like a puppet doll
Just to what that I was unsure
Then the water lapped at my shoes
Frosty fingers broke my stupor
Recoiling, gasping, I came to
Just to what that I was unsure
What lies beneath beauty portrayed?
What danger was weaved in the lure?
Felt it would have swept me away
Just to what that I was unsure
