Epilogue

She said, ‘You don’t love me anymore’,
And my mind got lost
As I scanned my memory’s core
How much it did cost.

It costs me youth, and her beauty,
And old are we now.
If it’s all that’s stored, then let it be,
But we know not how.

Yes, love decays with time’s flow,
And no more we think
Of the autumnal winds that once did blow:
How in us we did sink!

But, still in that empty wallet of love
Some coins are yet left.
Some hopes are still piled above,
Some are lost in time’s theft.
