Epiphany of the Fallen

why even dream,
just to watch life wash them away?
Leaving envy and hate
something to covet
turned emotional stain
life's nothing more
than what I have lost
decayed soul inside
this cold and calloused husk
in trying to live, I've learned of loss
my sin is needing someone else
I covet what's already lost
