By Carla

In the evening no one will be
Drinking anymore wine
And we'll wake and fly free.
Just as the wind blows a river in time.

Lay your head down upon my pillow
Speak to me of memories encased in sand
That ebbs with the tide, never lost, but oh so, mellow.
And if I can,
I will speak to you of pearls and couplets
And my rhymes will warm you,
And my images will hold you
For the essence of love... is you.
