Essence of Depression

Don't say I'm not ugly if you won't take me yourself,
My personality is funky and detrimental as well,

I'll never hurt you, my hate turns inward,
I don't understand what makes your soul differ,

I am what I am and I don't want to be here,
If I could exit existence I would so disappear,

What pains me may heal you, my shame does not show,
How I feel on the inside, you'll never know,

I've learned to hide hatred, and stash my discomfort,
Not willing to pawn off or bother you "others",

I'll live it discreetly, in states of contentment,
In my mind I am screaming "I don't want to live this".
