Estranged Child of Mine

If I had known how you have felt
There might have been a way
You coyly kept onto yourself
Then made it clear one day
With shock, despair, and broken heart
The tears flow in and out
I'm humbled by your numbing glare
And deafened by your shout
I gasp with thoughts of every word
You piled up so tall
And sharply aimed deliberately
Intended for my fall
And no description can relate
To what I feel inside
Now harshly thrown to rough terrain
Where love and care have died
I never knew you felt this way
On all your days since birth
My loving child, dear to me,
Abruptly stole my worth
