Eternal Rest

Awake I lay with my love by my side,
Both we stay on a bench that does sway
Stand I cannot on this warm summer day,
For my love does still lay on this quiet bliss day

As her eyes open slow the wind begins to blow
Then she sits right as her skin starts to glow
White feathered wings do grow from her bones,
And above her hair a gold ring floats

Her voice comes to tune like a man with a boon,
But sadly her song has ended too soon

Alone she now lays with head made of stone
Her advantage I had taken like a dog with a bone
Gone from this place she yet may be,
But gone from my heart she will never be

Alone I now lay on a bench that does sway
No more can I mourn for my sweet's long sleep,
Though first it had rained for apart we'd been,
But now the sun shines and welcomes us both

Together we lay with our heads made of stone,
Together we stay eternal in rest
