Every Kindness

Every Kindness

The brightly colored painted sign
Hanging in the school
Bringing people near
Attracting many wandering eyes

Bring money to support the children
The sign read
The big red bucket below was filled
With shiny circles and rectangle with faces on them

The bucket was often visited with grins galore
Until a little boy dressed in rags
And dirt on his face
Dropped in two pennies

With dirt and rags on his body
You could tell he was not wealthy
But his simple gift still counts
And it’s as great as all the rest

So much depends
Simple acts of
From a heartfelt
Changing people’s lives
