Everything

I was the first to hold you.
I cradled you in my arms as
A man cradles his soul,
For you are of my soul.

I felt my heart speak to you
It sang of your smile
and your ee-dawn light.
I watched your breath lift your chest and smiled,
For you are of my breath.

You slept on my chest and dreamed,
In that furtive predawn light.
I watched your breath lift your chest
and smiled,
For you are of my breath.

You grew and explored,
Your imagination blooming
Your dreams lighting your path
For you are of my dreams.

We will walk this world together, son,
I will be your protector, your guide,
Your rock, your lamplight, your love.

For you are of me.

You are Everything.
