Alone and brokenhearted,
when fear penetrates you
and you need somewhere to escape
and step out of the dark,
don't let their hurtful eyes follow.
Escape the moonlight.

It's the constant chase,
the chase where you can't win
and hiding isn't the answer.
There's nowhere else to go;
let the moonlight expose you.

But it all fades, behind one cloud,
or behind the fear that takes over.
The battle isn't over; day has come,
the battle is done

until night creeps up again
and the moonlight finds you
to expose you
to fear and life,
and there's nowhere to go anymore.
