Eyes like the Skes

I catch myself in the mirror.
My curls fall into my eyes.
I can't help but notice
That my eyes are like the skies.

They're not completely blue.
They do contain some gray.
But they shine whenever
The sun hits the iris.

Some people may say that
My eyes are bluer than ocean.
They're fierce like a tall wave,
But gentle as they run to your toes.

You may think that
My eyes are just hungry.
They're so hungry that
They could swallow the atmosphere.

But when I catch myself in the mirror,
And I see my eyes,
I just compare them
To the gray-blue skies.
