Faces

All those translucent faces that break my harmony
Forged categories of inspiration
I feel the heat but not regret
A thousand times we locked eyes
You never feign a smile

I can hear the darkness whisper
Slicing through my concentration
Willful ignorance tied to my lies
plastic thank you's
and all the adjacent minds

Forget my name
But remember those melodies
Those fated signs of lost existence
The sky is flooded with clouds
Hiding in memories my wasteful eyes change direction

A generation of illusion
with so many ties to evolution
Feared and not concerned with time
Illustrious ways in which we make our minds
I stand atop this stage
poised to let my soul alive
Waiting in vain for the warm connection in your eyes
