Faded Love

Oh, how I yearn for the love of yesteryear
Lying side by side wrapped arm in arm
Where did it go? Why shed this tear?
Those days gone by were such a charm

My heart still burns with passionate desire
Everything within me aches for the touch
Of the one true love who sparked that fire
But in her thoughts this seems too much

Just one more kiss from her cherry red lips
One more twinkle from those beautiful eyes
One more caress from her finger tips
Too much to ask and that wouldn’t be wise

Where are the cuddles that we once shared?
I remember a time I didn’t plead for a kiss
What happened to the days when she really cared?
Those are now memories I will always miss

I shall cherish what I have, this gift from above
My beautiful courtesan, this faded love
