Fading Spirit

The torch fades
Is anyone watching me?
I heard the Spirits beyond never fade and never sleep

I look up, look up once more
Has the Sun faded away from the stars?

The torch fades
Is anyone watching me?
I heard the Spirits beyond never fade and never sleep

I look up, look up once more
Has the Sun faded away from the stars?

I instinctively inhale the flower's failing aroma
My heavy heart heaves the sigh of a heathen
I feel a call from those who left
To chase, to trust, to say goodbye
And for a second, end my watch and stop time

I'll set the alarm
The dark won't claim me tonight

The torch fades
Is anyone watching me?
I heard the Spirits beyond never fade and never sleep

I look up, look up once more
Has the Sun faded away from the stars?

The torch fades
Is anyone watching me?
I heard the night beyond never fades and never sleeps

Our fires fade losing the last hope of survival from the day
As the fictitious flowers freely fall away
Our bodies freeze, chilled with our inevitable fears
Yet we continue to light sacrifices to Spirits we will never hear

We'll be alert
The dark won't claim us tonight

I sense something sacred, the back of Eternity's face
I whispered, "Am I alive, or am I dreaming, dead? Is the eternal darkness where I am being led?"
He replied and my fears were erased
"The night will fade away although the flowers turn to gray
The tears my children have cried will be gone,my child, be not afraid
You will rise with the mourning Son, and the night will fade to day"
