Fairy Tale Apple

On the table it rests, so pure and sweet,
The shining orb looks perfect to eat.
Sure it's healthy, it has vitamin A;
One a day keeps the doctor away.
But beware the apple, even perfect and red,
In one fairy tale a girl wound up dead.
One bite of the apple was all that it took
For the ending of Snow White's book.
And the girl that slept for years so long,
She was done a horrible wrong.
Okay, so that may have been because of a spell.
But what about the Greek girl who went to hell?
While apples are good, they can be bad.
What is happy can also be sad,
So before you bite think of what I've told;
You never know what that apple might hold.
