Fairy Tales

I used to wish to meet someone
who was gallant, bold and brave,
who'd sweep me off my feet
and love me to the grave.
And once in awhile in my life
I'd thought that such a one
had finally come to get me
to ride off in the setting sun.
But my knight in shining armour
had tarnish behind his ears...
every single one of them
that I'd met over the years.
I no longer look in armour
to try to find my knight
knowing that just the suit he wears
is likely to provoke a fight,
now I look most everywhere else
I search field, farm and road
and to find a Prince that I can love
I'll kiss each and every toad.
