Falling for Life

Climb, climb, keep on climbing!
We are children and it's what we do
We are invincible and it's what we know
Forty feet above the ground in a canopy of freedom
Nothing can stop us now

Free as the birds that fly above us
and free as the fish that swim the sea
We keep climbing and jumping
Through the trees it is endless

Until we realize we are not invincible
nor birds, nor fish--we are children
Free falling forty feet
Falling, falling, you keep falling

Almost twenty years later
I still think about you falling
swiftly falling and landing
With ease, with not a scratch on your body

Maybe you are a bird, or a fish
Maybe you are invincible
Just maybe you are.
