Fame Was My Name

When I was young Fame was my name
I was famous for selling drugs
Famous for using my pistol
Famous for my clothes
Famous for my cars
I was famous for all things street
Famous from my teeth to my feet
But most of all, I was famous for being Fame
As I started to grow,
I became the person my mom would call Wayne
Wayne was my real name
Wayne had no fame
The streets had Lied to Wayne,
And made him something he wasn't
My friends forgot about me
My clothes provide by the state
The cops took my guns
All the drug money gone
Here in my new home there are no streets
Name replaced with a number
Fame was my name
