Family Tree

What tree is more majestic
than the family tree?
Where each branch holds a part of our history.
Mother, father, grandparents too,
Sisters, brothers, whether many or few.
Aunts, uncles, distant cousins;
Where in a family like ours
they come by the dozens.
Over the years
some have fallen away;
But we still hold them precious
Until this very day.
