Life is short
And at the end we beg for more
But all we can do
Is bid our memories adue
I say farewell to the summer sky
And the midnight moon I would once salute
And I say goodbye to the horizon on its big debut
As I make my departure
I remember the memories I would once embrace
Like how a drop of dew embraces a blade of grass
As I say farewell to the oceans blue
Though I get the feeling I will see them again soon
I say au revoir to the bed I once would lay
I symbolize the elders I would once obey
I say farewell to the serendipity that humbled my heart
I say goodbye to the minor differences that set us apart
I feel the ineffable feeling hireaeth
And the feeling of somber perseverance
And I am finally aware that our final resting place
Is where we take our final stance with dignity and grace
