Gently, gently, gently,
Down to the water's edge
Leaving behind this life
From whose cup you drank so deeply

The boatman's here, he helps you on,
Steadies the ancient craft,
And drifting off, you see us wave,
Teary-eyed, bereft

You will be long in our minds
Mother, wise lady, friend
A happy memory
Godspeed, all is over

But wait, is that a light on that far shore?
