It hit me like a strong winter breeze,
Cold and shivering,
I felt unease.
The news that was brought was unfortunate to me,
You lived so long,
How can it be?
You flourished in life, oh how you prospered,
For a successful family you raised,
Two sons and a daughter.
Now you are gone, still it bothers me,
The fact that I see those eyes staring back at me.
It was those eyes not those which are open,
The dark blue lids closed,
Not to open. I surely wish for you to see
The sadness I feel every time
I breathe.
I feel like there's air that is needed for you,
For anything I could do to bring you back,
I would.
