FATE OF A FLOWER
FATE OF A FLOWER
I see your radiant face
With a joyous smile.
How long your gleeful phase,
I wonder, may prevail?
A man may come soon to
Pluck you from the stem
To place you in a vase to
Decorate his home.
You may sacrifice your life
On someone’s alter,
May never again be yourself
With merry laughter.
Why on earth did you bloom
Into a world, so heartless
Which exploits your charm,
Slighting your gentleness?
Why doesn’t your elegance,
Change the hideous brains?
Why doesn’t your fragrance,
Grace the human race?
I see your radiant face
With a joyous smile.
How long your gleeful phase,
I wonder, may prevail?
A man may come soon to
Pluck you from the stem
To place you in a vase to
Decorate his home.
You may sacrifice your life
On someone’s alter,
May never again be yourself
With merry laughter.
Why on earth did you bloom
Into a world, so heartless
Which exploits your charm,
Slighting your gentleness?
Why doesn’t your elegance,
Change the hideous brains?
Why doesn’t your fragrance,
Grace the human race?
