Fateless

Running, racing, catching my breath
The sound of panting is reaching my death
Caught in fear brings everlasting tears
Save me for I am now facing a mirror
Sorrow, anguish, despair, is there no one out there who really cares?
Time passes as every moment flashes
Tick, tock to the song of sadness
Stars fall as each cast of darkness
Covers their light with madness
Save me now for I am about to take
The everlasting light, my fate

This Poems Story

Katie White was born and raised in Sunland, CA, as the youngest sister of the White family. While growing up, she spent most of her time writing short fictional stories, playing piano, and singing. When finances became an issue for her family, she obtained two scholarships and paid her way through college. After college, finances did not improve and in order to afford a place of her own, with her future husband, they both drove from California to Florida for a new beginning. Katie White wrote "Fateless" to represent her pain and sorrow dealing with people who gave her adveristy from elementary school all the way to the work force. Katie advises readers to take a step back and realize how their words and actions may cause hell and trauma in another person's life. In the end, is it worth treating people poorly? It may just be better to create smiles on other people's faces.
