Father

Father

I'll never forget who my father was.
A man of few values.
A man of discipline.
A man of solitude.

But my father was more than that
My father was a man of fire.
A man of regret.
My father was a man of mistakes.

My father was a man full of
empty promises
He was a man of
empty words
and angry hands.

My father was a man full of anger burning so hot it didn't just burn the edges of his life,
It burned our home down,
It burned our family to the ground.

My father is the reason i'm scared of fire
My father is the nightmare I can't wake up from.

I'll never forget who my father was
