Father, Hear My Cry

I loved you until I couldn't
But I will always care.
No matter how many people believed I shouldn't.
I remember the times you weren't there.
Days full of blank stares.
Wondering if God could hear my tears.
The hearts and promises you broke.
Made my world shake and my heart ache.
Hoping you'd run through that door with an warm embrace.
Now I never want to see your face.
Save your words for the next.
Because I tried my best.
I'll love you from a distance.
Until you make a difference.
