Father/Daughter

They say the instant a father lays his eyes on his daughter
He adores her
He makes a secret promise to himself
To hold her
As if tomorrow never comes
To kiss her
As if to leave a stamp on her heart
To hide her
As if she can't fight the evil the world brings
To cherish her
As if he is the only guy who will ever enter her life
To love her
As if love will never exist
To protect her
As if he is the one shunning her away
They say the instant a father lays his eyes on his daughter
He will do whatever he can for her
Even if it means pushing her away
