Father’s Day 2013

To all the Dads I know and love
Whether you listened to Michael Jackson
Or wore just one glove
You seemed so old and responsible yesteryear
But now you're just old
If you're lucky - kids near

Grandchildren perhaps for some of you
A chip off the block
Hard to believe, little you

Where did the years go the pictures don't lie
We were standing in row
From lo to high

Next to the fossils as best I recall
White button down shirt to signify summer
In old black and white it makes me wonder....

How young they must have felt and now it is me
Another branch added
To the family tree
