Favorite Blanket

I have a favorite blanket
Its color is of red,
And every night I sleep with it
In my nice warm snuggly bed.

GrandMontie made it for me
When I was not quite born,
It used to be all new and fresh
But now it’s tattered and torn.

I have to patch and sew it
Bandanna works the best,
Although the patch is newer
It’s almost like the rest.

So if you have a blanket
That’s snuggly, nice, and warm,
Be kind and gentle to it
And do not do it harm.

This Poems Story

I wrote this poem when I was 8 about a blanket my grandmother made for my birth. I still have this blanket today - holes, patches and all.
