Doors close.
Faucets turn.
Thunder boils over.

Fix the leaks
So the house won't flood.

Straighten the bricks
So the neighbors won't know.

Dig a grave,
An empty solace.

Hold on to breath
And with her

The floorboards
Don't tremble.
Feet never touch.

Roll over the stairs on waves.
Dive into the living room.

Look from the window
Into the dark.
A place where breath
Is everywhere.

Set her free
And watch her rise.

Let sleep in
Through the shutters.

The neighbors will know where to
Put you.
