Fevered Freedom

A feisty bird with the most frenzied fire -
That burns with Nike's torch of accolades -
With unabated grace does glide and gyre
Towards the horizons with wings of blades.

While treasuring in the heart of the soul
The saccharine taste of liberty claimed,
The Phoenix leaves scars in the sky that glow
With an alight pride never to be framed.

Intrepid infernos above the sea,
Which captures the scene on a placid plane,
Perceiving the ephemerality:
The blazing bird for whom prestige will wane.

For fevered freedom will one day combust;
Live the moment before all falls to dust.
