Finding Freedom

Isolation breaks down the psyche, brick by brick.
Suffering builds character with a mortar
Mixed with time, thoughts and pain.
Rome was not built or destroyed in a day.
A divided mind may stand, but yet misunderstood.
fracture induced, comfort in a contorted reality.
Neurons firing, a map seldom observed, often dismissed.
No destination, only the journey.
Is this not freedom at its very core.
To travel down into the confines of ones consciousness.
While others only stroll the surface,
Lackadaisical, ignorance truly is bliss.
Do not fear the unknown.
Embrace it, conquer it, find yourself.
These chains may no longer bind you.
Spread your wings and fly away,
but never forget where you've been.
No, do not forget.
