Firefly

So high in the sky
Not a care in the world
Only joy knows your name
While pain knows mine
As the sun rises you go away
As I sit and watch, I wonder
Where are my happy days?

The sun is shining nearly blinding
But still pain knows my name
Little firefly with the bright light
How do I become like you?
The firefly whispers sweet joy in my ear
Yet all I hear is sweet misery

The firefly and I take turns in this world
We follow each other like tom and jerry
A petty game of cat and mouse
I can follow one moment of joy
With a rain cloud so bleak
I don’t mean to do it
But at least I’m unique
