The goldfish died. We bought another one,
and it died, too. The third one lived a week.
But Number Four has had a lengthy run
is he some sort of mutant fishy freak?
The weeks roll by like ocean waves, and still
our scaly friend is swimming in his dish.
Longevity like his, in fin and gill,
make him the true Methuselah of fish.
