Fisherman's Folly

Can you tell me where my love lies?
Many nights for him I've wept.
Have I lost him to your depths?
I walk your shores for him each night,
And pray that he returns come light.
Yet everyday is much the same,
I still remain with none to blame.
And on your breath I taste his tears,
Into my heart your voice strikes fear.
For I've seen your wrath within the tide,
Crashing waves with deep dark eyes.
I pray that you let me take his place,
And I shall leave without a trace.
I only ask for one last day,
And then I shall remain as the face of the waves.
