Fishing For A Rhythm
He threw out a line
Looking for a rhyme
But hooked onto a steady beat
The beat was consistent
And consistently driving him crazy
He needed the song out of his head
So he cast out a new line
A fresh hook and all
And waited for a new rhythm to grab
The next rhythm seemed great
It had multiple exciting traits
Like pounding drums
And melodic strums
But the noise made its way to his head
So he tied his last knot
To silence the music
That had dictated his entire life
He threw himself out
Instead of a hook
With the line tied around his neck
And for a few moments
He smiled in his head
Because that awful rhythm
Was finally dead
