Fishing Trip

He got a real good deal on a boat with a motor;
a large eighteen foot, too.
And, he backed it in, with a grin, to the water,
with a good day of fishing in view.
As his friend went to park the truck and the trailer,
the sailor prepared to sail.
But, when he looked inside, he nearly died,
and he let out a cuss and a wale!
Oh, the boat wouldn't float in the shallow of the water,
and, filling up fast was she.
With a cussing and a fussing out in the water,
angry at himself was he.
He yelled at his friend to get the trailer again,
as his face grew hotter than sin.
Right before his eyes he realized
that he didn't put the darn plug in!
