Five Little Words
In five little words you went away
Your smile, your laugh, your voice
Taking with you the light of day
Leaving me behind in all of the noise
Left to pick up the pieces.
In five little words you haunted my nights
Showing up for a moment
And then leaving in the light
Leaving me alone, mind twisted and bent
Left to clean up the mess.
In five little words you conquer my mind
With what if's and had I's
Wondering if you were right to leave me behind
With out so much as a decent goodbye
Left to stay and forget.
Forget the truth of five little words, that
You, my dear, are dead.
