Five Minutes a Day

Darkness prevails over Mideastern sands,
Gripping the hearts of all foreign lands.
Unconscionable, religious, political craze...
"God save the children!" the atheist prays.

It baffles the mind, an evil so cursed.
Warmongers conspire to fill up their purse.
What can we do? What can we pray?
Do we just turn and wait for judgement day?

What we don't want to know, it makes us all cringe,
It is time. to awaken the light from within.
Darkness and shadow, it's all a facade.
The war is with spirit measuring distance from God.

We created this evil just living our lives,
Wandering about electronically mesmerized.
If we all will just take five minutes a day,
Our love and our light will keep evil at bay.
