A bird falls from the nest
Wings flapping wildly
Trying to hang on to a remnant of the past
Plummeting towards tomorrow
to find
their path

Many birds fall
Wings flapping wildly
Unaccustomed to falling
New to flight
New to the world
New to possibilities

Some find their wings
but some

For those who do,
Who flap their feathered wings and fly
Soar above sorrow
Soar above worries
Soar above fear

It's another chance
at flight
