Flora

Petal by petal,
Stem by stem,
Leaf by leaf,
The journey began.
Colorful orchid,
Vivid rose,
Fluffy dandelion,
It’s gloom they foreclose.
A merry song they sing,
Dancing in the rain,
In spring they lull,
In fall they vanish,
Like a puff of smoke,
In an attempt to survive,
But one very vain.
Winter follows,
Barren trees,
Droopy and gloomy.
My sun has set,
For the next three months.
Two months later,
Hope knocks at my door,
And gives me a gift.
It’s his friend summer,
Lurking around the corner,
Of a road,
that never seems to end.
