i am passionate about a flower
something so small and insignificant
but beautiful and oh so sweet

what is exchanged between families and friends?
blessings that speak sorrow and sympathy and love
arranged in a vase, to mend what has been

these tiny little pops of color and life
can make any day brighter in morn or the night

the petals ripped off limb by limb
bring hope to young girls of who loves her

something so fragile dainty and light
emerging from a rugged earth without putting up a fight

bringing freshness and beauty to a cold and dark world
one poppy and sunflower at a time
unless you're allergic, then you could get a cold!
