Flowers

These purple blooms are scattered around,
Beautiful, intense in color.
I must gather them under cover,
these flowers He gave me.
Hide them away for mine eyes only.

Make-up on the jaw.
Longer sleeves for the wrists,
arms.
Were someone to see,
He would bring me a bouquet.

When asked how I am,
I am gifted with a firm hand on the arm.
Pinching fingers at my sensitive
skin.
Big smiles, bright eyes.

"Wonderful!" I exude happiness.
Marital bliss pours from my lies.
I beg with my eyes. I bite my tongue.
He is everything to me
(That He said He never would be.)
