Flowers for the Bride

To my beautiful sister, Sharr

I picked some flowers for you today on a path you've never been.
It's beauty reminded me of you and it made me miss my friend.
See I've known you all my life, yet some times we're so apart.
I hope you know that I love you sis and you're always in my heart.

So I picked a few flowers for you today while dreaming I was there.
To take these flowers to you and place them in your hair.
If only I was with you to make you laugh until we cry.
Just before the song begins and your led up to your guy.

I picked some flowers for you today while I said a prayer for you.
For God to bless you with a lifetime love as you say the words "I DO".

This Poems Story

As a military wife I have missed special times of which I should have been a part. I wrote this poem to my sister Sharr on her widding day. With the poem I had included twenty-five picture of different types of flowers. Those flowers were found during my walk that morning, which is when the words to my poem were warmly constructed. Although I love my life as a military spouse, the moments missed with loved ones is a bitter burden. What better way to express it in words. Thank you, Eber & Wein, for noticing the tenderness and value in my sister's gift.
