Fog Everlasting

The Fog Everlasting
It crept along the wide silent corridors
into the early morning darkness.
The fog sucked the black out of the sky-
rhythmless.
It undulated and breathed,
circulating like cool, gray blood
along the dark capillaries of the stone walkways.
Inside its smoky mist,
shadows were swallowed up and gone.
The fog remained at arm's length,
and hovered, claustrophobic for hours.
.the world had become London gloom.
