Footprints in the sand

Shades in the meadow surrounding my home
Birds in the sky my witness alone
Comforting winds gives comfort no more
To my children I so love and adore

Chased by the shadows once gave me retreat
Silenced by holler and stampeding feet
They come filled with hatred, breastfeeding on greed
Whispers approaching with breathtaking speed

With tears in their brown eyes my family pleads
Crying the words as they silently flee
We love him so much as we watch you go mad
Killing our Loved one alone in the sand

My mother prays that my horn never grow
She begs as she cries that you'll reap what you sow
I remember my father running so grand
As i walk past his footprints left in the sand

This Poems Story

I wrote this Poem two days ago for our Rhino's being slaughtered. I created the Rhino in my story with a Human "Feel", to get readers to start empathizing with them more.
