For All

Hold candles, bringing light
To us on vigil in this dark city
Where bluecoats too often
Do harm from their qualms
Over different shades of skin.
We stand together, not to fight
But to chant and pray for those
Who paid the price of prejudice.
Some mime the pull of triggers
From needless use of guns
By both sides, all of us victims.
They perish for their color
Or for their decision to become
Guardians, now condemned
Due to rashness of comrades
In blue. So we place flowers,
Light candles to glow for all.
