For I Am Not Blind
I listen as the frames collide,
I would see better
if it weren't for my eyes.
The sound of glasses clashing
makes this encounter an ocean storm;
and it is I the waves are splashing.
Suddenly, we come apart
and the light's been flicked away.
"No, you cannot have my heart,"
is all I've got to say
A second splits, and we're back together.
Love you; maybe.
Love me; never.
Hopeful, expectant eyes stare from behind,
but to believe you, I refuse
for I am not blind.
