For my dearest mother

You brought me into the world
and showed me the boundless skies.
When the day shined at it's brightest,
and in the coldest nights.

You showed me the widest oceans
and taught me how to swim.
At times, to push the currents,
at times to run with the wind.

You taught me to look at nature;
The Tree and The Forest.
Rooted in her kin,
but reaching at her branches.

We find ourselves at crossroads.
Convergence and divergence.
But in our hearts, a steady compass,
that home is always within us.
