For the Moment

At the surface

Those waves look innocent

But something tells me

It disguises the true criminal intent

And I can't help myself, I step in

I can feel it suck me in

As I descend

Past the point of no return

I can see the bitter end

That I choose to ignore

Captivated and infatuated

With the glorious fall

If only for just this moment

I want to have it all

I recognize the faint taste

Of the salty regret

I'd never heard of a worthy waste

There's a lot I haven't heard of yet

And when my confidence is failing

And my heart is sinking

And the rescue ship is sailing

Back to shore

Crashing with the waves

Desperately reaching for

Slipping into the closest watery grave

Discarding all regrets

Disregarding circumstances

Living without consequences

Or not living at all
